5)Unidirectional: capture sound from a wide field in front of the microphone
When there are multiple sound sources in front of the microphone, omnidirectional is the best option. This mode captures sound from a wider area in the front while suppressing sound from the back, making it ideal for recording panel discussions or bands.
6)Omnidirectional: record sounds from all directions
The omnidirectional mode has equally high sensitivity in all directions. The omnidirectional recording mode is ideal when you want to record conversations between the camera operator and an interviewee or general ambient sounds from the area around the camera.
7)Digital audio interface for clear sound
The ECM-B10 is compatible with many Sony cameras1. When used in conjunction with a camera equipped with a Multi Connection (MI) connector that includes a digital audio interface2, audio can be transmitted directly as a digital signal, ensuring high-quality, distortion-free recording.
8)Clear sound with efficient noise cancellation
The ECM-B10's noise cut-off filter uses digital signal processing to minimize unwanted background noise and produce a clearer sound. A low-cut filter is also available with easy, intuitive access from the rear panel to reduce low-frequency noise from sources such as wind and air conditioning units. By maximizing sound quality at the recording stage in this way, the need to eliminate noise during post-recording processing is reduced, resulting in a more efficient workflow.
9)Installation without cables
By using the ECM-B10 with a compatible camera equipped with a multi-connector, you have the luxury of connecting without cables. You don't have to worry about sound being mechanically transmitted to the microphone via cables and plugs, and there are no wires to get in the way of shooting, even when shooting with the camera's rotating Vari-angle LCD screen open to the side.
